"I've been passionate about classical music for as long as I can remember – not only as a player, but always somehow getting involved in organising behind the scenes.  I endeavour to do as much violin playing as I possibly can, working with several freelance groups in North East England, including Northern Camerata.  Since I am lucky enough to play a fine violin by Johannes Theodorus Cuypers from 1784, I have a particular interest in studying Bach’s solo violin music with baroque bow.  Other research interests include the music of Edward Elgar and rarely played orchestral repertoire.  I'm always on the lookout for interesting scores, old and contemporary to recommend to my musician friends and clients."

ROSALIND PORTER's musical career began as an orchestra librarian and Chairman’s Assistant for the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra while still at university, followed by positions with BBC Radio 2 and Radio 3 (Production Assistant) in London. Her musical interests took her to Switzerland, Germany and Austria where she spent 8 years as a classical music artist agent and PR manager developing business contacts in South America, Asia as well as the UK and mainland Europe.

Rosalind was working with international artists developing extensive PR contacts with mainstream and specialist music press in addition to negotiating contracts for musicians with organisations in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Montevideo, Singapore, Australia, Glasgow, Switzerland, England, Vienna, Spain and the USA amongst others.  Concert planning and management included artistic programming and providing marketing materials to promoters and press.

Since returning to England she has continued to support musicians with PR and research skills in addition to working in London, at the Sage Gateshead and currently in a bilingual English/German client advisor role.
