General Administrative Offerings

  • Coordinating Artist's appointments, conferences, and engagements with their managements
  • Assisting managers with arrangement of travel, accommodations, and itinerary 
  • General "on the road" assistance when touring
  • Updating and distributing publicity materials
  • Developing contacts with print, online and broadcast media
  • Writing press releases
  • Sorting financial paperwork and expenses for Artist's accountant
  • Development and updating of Artist's social media presence
  • 24/7 emergency support – missed flight connection, missing hotel booking, lost luggage
  • German translation of written materials
  • Maintaining inventory of press cuttings, reviews, and articles
  • General upkeep of Artist's computer, including backing up, storing data, and updating virus protection
  • Providing Public Relations services

Music-Related Assistance

  • Locating and obtaining scores and music for the Artist, including unusual or rare editions (*Memberships with British Library and Austrian National Library and contact with major publishers)
  • Using music reading skills to make initial judgement on new scores the Artist might receive, including possible commission projects
  • Editing and copying scores and parts, including cuts, transpositions, bowings, and other related markings
  • Providing comparison of editions
  • Assisting Artist with administration of auditions, masterclasses, or potential teaching opportunites
  • General assistance at rehearsals, including taking notes and providing feedback, supervising access to Artist's room, organising refreshments, and more
  • Research of repertoire and compiling programmes and programme notes for concerts and recitals
  • Obtaining recordings for the Artist; ensuring they receive copies of Radio and TV broadcasts made
  • Keeping Artist up to date with relevant news from music business publications at home and abroad
  • For string instrumentalists: proper general care and handling of instruments, especially on tour, and knowledge of local luthiers for sudden repair needs

Special Skills

  • Knowledge of BBC Radio 3 and classical music TV output, broadcasting techniques and the requirements and demands of production/technical staff in studio session and concert hall environments, as demonstrated at BBC Sunday Morning Concerts at The Sage Gateshead.
  • Fast typing under pressure of minimum 70wpm, extensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and Publisher
  • Ability to quickly assimilate new database/software systems such as OPAS, Artifax and Tessitura, drawing on previous experience with in-house databases and using them to deal with forward planning of concerts and schedules
